With more than 30 years of professional experience as a jazz and R&B vocalist, keyboard player, band leader, and music educator/director in such cities as Minneapolis, L.A, Seattle and San Francisco, Janis has shared the stage and the studio with Carole King; Earth, Wind & Fire; The Neville Brothers; Tower Of Power; Rufus & Chaka Khan and Heart, to name but a few.

A former National Step Aerobics Champion and internationally renowned fitness expert, Janis has now become a champion of raising consciousness through her powerful original songs and performances.  Since breaking out as an original artist in 2005, Janis has recorded two critically acclaimed CDs, “Change The World,” and “I Am Becoming…,” and has inspired audiences in live music venues across America.  She is currently at work on her third full-length effort, “Go Ahead & Love,” due to be released in 2012.

In addition to her endeavors as an original artist, Janis continues to work as a professional jazz and R&B vocalist and keyboard player, performing solo gigs and leading duos, trios, quartets and even quintets, as well as Spirit Voices women’s vocal ensemble.
